Default Mid pipe corrosion issue

Hey guys,

So the other day I start up my car and there was an awful noise coming from underneath the car, like someone was blending a smoothie under my car, I take a look and notice some of the clamps holding the heat shield in place have corroded and we're falling off. So I took my car to the mechanic and rest assured my mid pipe had corroded through and cracked (picture attached). In the end, that section was cut off and a piece of pipe was welded on ($130 temp repair, picture attached).

This post is just to warn my fellow Club Lexus members, if where you live there's winter, take the heat shield off as salt from the winter will get trapped inside and overtime will corrode your mid pipe. Just a heads up that's all.

Hope this solves or prevent some of your issues.

Cheers

Is the mid pipe covered by the federal emissions warranty?
