Smile 2008 Lexus IS Nav System Touch Screen Fix DIY

I owned a 2008 Lexus IS350 and recently the touch screen of Navigation system does not respond (the GPS still working). Since the dealership fix cost at least $3000+, I bought a replacement touch screen from ebay (see below link) for $240. Then I follow the instruction that I found online (fairly easy) and DIY fix it. Now I am enjoy touching my screen of my car again.

Replacement touch screen I bought from ebay:

The DIY guide to fix the touch screen of GPS: (since I am replace the whole screen, I don't need to follow the last few steps)

A video to show how to remove the GPS:

Thanks for all the resource that I found, hope it helps.

Out of curiosity, does it fail after certain mileage, or age of the car. I have an 08 with 28K miles and I hope i don't run into this problem. But i bought car from old guy i don't think he was messing with the display much.

Electronics could fail at anytime with unstable current. My touchscreen failed after I took my car to do a state inspection.
