Default Engine help... what is this pink stuff crusting all over?

Popped the hood today to do some detailing and noticed this crusty pink crap all over the cap of my coolant tank. Anyone know what's going on here? I'm guessing the cap is leaking and the coolant is cooking? Some of it is down the side of the tank too. If it's nothing more than a bad cap or seal, does this fall under the powertrain warranty or do I need to take it to my mechanic?
Thanks for any help.

Looks like dried crusted coolant that spewed out from the overflow. Was the cap snugley on?

Oh you guys, it doesn't have to be overfilled; it'll find its way out regardless. I've have my coolant tank sitting at the low mark since I encounter this issue...and I still get a bit of pink crust! It's just one of those few "engine-related" items on the 2IS that weren't designed well...along with the cam gears (aka cam rattle) and the piston design on the 250s.

If you take a close look at the tank (first pic) , you clearly see it overfilled.

Thanks folks for the remarks. I've only taken it to dealers for service. So if it's overfilled, it's going back to them.

Overfilled, cap not on tight, cap leaking. Or similar.

Functionally it is basically irrelevant, nothing will go wrong. Clean it off, make sure the cap is tight and it's not overfull. If it happens again I would replace the cap.

Actually there is a TSIB for the issue on the early model IS.

Its a Toyota thing. I clean my kids 2009 Matrix engine every year. And theres always a pink ring to scrape off.
