Default Sound right?

So I'm getting f sport springs for my is250..

Spoke to about 5 shops all were quoting around 4-500 including alignment..is that a lot?

Now I spoke to one shop that quoted 255$ for install and they said I didn't need alignment because the spring was hooked up to the control arm and not the ..... Excuse me I forgot.

Does that sound right? I'm just getting f sport springs that's it no shocks.

If anyone also has a shop to point me to either in Ventura county or LA county I would greatly appreciate it.

Sounds about right to me with alignment and yes, you will need an alignment.

I wouldn't pay $400 to install lowering springs. It takes maybe 3 hours at most to install all four. I did mine myself and never got an alignment done. My springs dropped more than the F-Sports and I have no issues that point to me needing an alignment and I've had the springs for about 15K miles.

surf, $255 is a good price... the only alignment angle that will change would be the camber(minimal change), but the camber can not be adjusted... so an alignment would not be necessary...

the only adjustable item is toe. camber/ caster can be set but with after market accessories. I would still have the toe set so that it doesn't scrub the tire as it rolls down the street

Sounds a bit pricey. I get alignments for under $100 at a performance shop. So that leaves $300-400 just to install springs? Its cheaper to install coils.

Just an FYI, your fine with a drop thats ~3/4 - 1 inch? Because thats what the fsport springs are and that type of drop is not noticeable.

Anytime you adjust the suspension, you should get an alignment

Do you mean that by getting 19s (assuming you have 18s currently) that the wheel gap is going to decrease by 1 inch? It doesnt work that way lol. Ever seen a 2IS on 19s or 20s with no drop? Its not pretty.

And I cant really answer your question, its subjective. I dont like wheel gap, but thats just my opinion

Don't worry about it, that's what forums like these are for: to pass knowledge from one member to another and help eachother out.

As far as your situation, I wouldn't get the f sport springs unless you had a really damn good reason as to why you are getting them. If you don't go coilovers, get road magnet springs. They drop 2" and it almost looks like a coilover drop. Whether or not the wheels fit is beyond how much you lower it. So drop it first without worrying about the 19s in the future and then figure the wheels out once you get to that point.

IMO: 19s with a 1" (if that) spring drop doesn't look good.

sounds good i apperciate the honesty and the help

f sport springs i guess are out of the question i dont want to have them installed and pay for everything to find out theres to much wheel gap.

thanks guys

if you're looking for a conservative drop but enough to eliminate fender gap with 19" but don't want coils...then I would highly suggest the Eibachs or H&R or Tein S-techs.

My own set up is just swift springs (given a deal I couldn't pass - FREE-) LOL on 19" and it's just enough to eliminate almost all fender gap...but only dropped 0.6" from ground to top of fender. which is exactly how I wanted it, since my gf also drives it most of the time...she's not very good at driving lowered vehicles! LOL

And from experience, most shops will charge $200 - $250 for install...maybe cheaper if you pay cash

and alignment at a performance shop will not be over $100
