I've been hearing a rattling noise when I start my 2006 IS350.. I heard it a month ago for the first time but then it went away.. now my car makes that noise every time I start it, it annoys the hell out of me
anyone else noticed this problem and got it fixed?

 

Is your car stock or modded? If so what mods, because I had a rattle and it ended up being my K&N intake had a bolt fall out that secured the intake down and it would rattle at startup. Could be something small like the engine cover not put on all the way, or one of the plastic pieces knocking on each other when the you start it up.

 

Cam Gear Rattle. There's a fix for it but there doesn't seem to be any damage by it. I had the same thing and it also went away

I actually had it happen to me today. Its the second time this summer so far. Time for an oil change!

The cam rattle is caused by a lack of oil to the cam gears at start-up; basically a design flaw. Usually happens more often to me nearing the end of the 7k oil change intervals.

 

I did have that cam gear rattle, it was fixed under warranty, problem solved now. Mine is an 07 is250
