The other day when i turned my car on it went through all its normal checks and said check completed (thus all the dash lights went out) however the airbag light stayed on.. its a light on the top right side of the dash (person sitting with a seat belt on and airbag in their face).. Anyone have any idea what this light could mean?! I'm assuming it has something to do with the airbag but i just don't understand why it would be on?! Nothing has changed in my car.. i didn't hit anything or anything like that.. Could this be a sensor gone bad or something?! any help would be appreciated..

Could be a number of things. You should have it checked to be on the safe side. The airbag module, and airbag itself, one of your sensors or even just a short in the wiring could cause the light to come on. Try a reset by disconnecting the battery for a couple minutes and see if it goes away. If so and then it comes back on, you definitely want to have it looked at.

Mine comes on and off randomly. It has been off for a while now but who knows when it will come back on.

 

Thanks fellas! Just as stated it went out yesterday! I will bookmark that thread for future reference.. my car is still under warranty so I will definitely have it looked at.. Thanks a lot for the help!

 

Take picture of it next time and show it to your dealer to have them check it out.
