Default P2714

After having many random power lag issues and no CEL, finally got a CEL today and it read:

P2714 - Pressure Control Solenoid "D" Performance/Stuck off

Any ideas what this is?

it controls your shifting. your shift bands are slipping. either a solenoid is stuck or your valve body is clogged. draining and filling the transmission probably wont solve anything...

i've got my lexus booked in at the dealers to replace the output seal of the transmission. at the same time they will diagnose this issue. can anyone tell me if these solenoids are nearby the location involved to change the output seal? reason i ask is if they are working near the area its best that they do it all in one go rather than going back and doing it all over again and increasing the labour hours.

I havent cleared the code as the car is due in to the dealers soon. Just scanned the code again and another code is now on there. P2757 Torque Converter Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Control Circuit Performance or Stuck Off.

The car is not under warranty and dreading the news from the dealers, i read somewhere that they dont really like diagnosing in-depth and just end up wanting to change the transmission instead.

just replacing the transmission might actually be a cheaper route than fully diagnosing (additional cost of labor) as well as replacing the affected parts (parts + labor)

That's what i'm thinking the dealers will say, but i'm sure a smaller specialist garage will be willing to diagnose the problem rather than replacing the entire thing. The tranny and the stuff consist of so many components and seems like such a waste to replace the entire thing just because of a few failing components.

My tranny output seal needs to be replaced and i'm wondering if they suggest change the tranny would there actually be any point changing the seal first and then getting the tranny done later? or would it be better to just do it all in one go otherwise is it not re-doing some of the work again?

The car is on 140k miles, a friend of mine has over 180k on his and no problems with tranny.

the P2757 error code was a pending code and has gone away but the 2714 code is a stored code. the transmission feels perfectly fine and works and shifts very well, except on some random occasions only when the car has warmed up i get random power lag as if the car is in snow mode. it feels like a vaccum leak but isn't.

i've prepared myself for worst case scenario and got complete tranny quotes in advanced from breaker yards.

my current situation is a p0781, p0761, and got an intermittent pressure control valve. It sat at the transmission shop for 10 days, with 781 and 761 coming quick. My theory was one of 3 issues. Faulty s3 solenoid, stuck valve behind s1, or faulty wiring. Picked car up yesterday due to no progress nor information to repair my car. Brought it home, racked it up, pulled electrical connector from drivers side of trans, installed new trans to body ground to back up factory on passenger side. Cleared all codes using Autel scanner. Car shifted out all gears. No lag nor slippage on the rack. Put the car on the road, 3 miles out, using both drive then paddles, it worked great, turned around car goes back into limp made. Racked it back up. Cleared same codes tbat were in it previously. On the rack, paddles, 6th gear @3000 rpm, she never missed. Back to road test, limp mode. I've heard of and read of faulty splenoids, wiring harness, tcc solenoid, or shift solenoid failure. Any information would be a blessing. Ty
