MAF Replacement - ECU Reset
I recently swapped out my MAF sensor with a brand new Denso one because i was getting random sluggish power issue and my mpg was seriously low no-matter how i drove. So after swapping out the MAF, the mpg improved a lot, but the throttle response was still slightly off and i had random rpm issues.
So eventually i decided to reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery, and since then rpm and throttle responses have become very good. Does it really require a ECU reset after installing a new MAF? i would have thought having had the new MAF sensor in for a few weeks that the ECU would learn the airflow automatically

Ideally any time you replace an item relating to the performance of the motor, you should "reset" the system.
Glad it seemed to have helped you out. Had you tried a MAF cleaner spray before the swap?

My 08 is250 awd is having a vibration at idle and threw P0102 and P0113 for MAF problems. Cleaning it with MAF cleaner helped out and the ECU reset did as well however it still idles a bit rough sometimes at stoplights. Did your new MAF smooth the idle at all?
