Default Bent Wheel

I did not realize this bent portion of passenger side front wheel when I bought my IS350 but noticed it when I washed it. It doesn't seem to affect how it drives to me. However it looks bad especially looked at from certain angles.

Is this something that can be fixed easily and inexpensively? I was thing about taking the wheel off and hit the bent part inward (covered with soft towel) with a hammer. Or should I leave it as is or take it to a tire / wheel place?

Again, this seems purely cosmetic. Luckily for me, other than the bent portion on this wheel, wheels are very clean and free of road rashes and etc.

You need to repair that. NO you can't fix it. Take it to a wheel repair shop or the dealer works with an outside wheel repair shop. I'd say about $125 to fix roughly.

Thanks for the reply. What'd happen if if I keep it as is?

You may want to check if the wheel can still be balanced with the tire. Take it to a tire shop and ask them if they can balance it . If they cannot balance it then you would need to repair it.. Whatever you do, Do not try to fix it your self with a hammer. You could cause the rim to crack on the outer lip causing it to leak air.

This answer is totally absurd. The answer to this persons question should be to resolve it quickly and cost effectively but more so SAFELY. Find a wheel shop or wheel repair tech in the area and get it fixed. If you are having trouble finding one I would go to any dealers and ask either the used car manager or the parts/service department who fixes their damaged wheels. Many times they will provide you with the answer with no hesitation and they will tell you how good a job that they actually do for them.

You might wanna look for a used set that might be as cheap as a fix 1 rim or buy 4 for close to same price?

Yeah, I'd say the structure of that wheel has been compromised. Get a good, used wheel to replace it ASAP.

Thanks for the posts guys. What'd be better? To replace it with a good uses one or to repair the existing one?

That's an easy fix for a good wheel repair shop. Don't leave it as is. Just cause you're driving with it like that doesn't mean that it is safe. I'd repair it ASAP.
