Default starting from stock

so I just got a 06 250 AWD, charcoal color, and im pumped for the possibilities. I know that I want the clean, sleek, not slammed look. "Tastefully Lowered" if you will. Looking at 19x8 fronts, 19x9 rears most likely. Would also like to add a slight body kit, nothing drastic.

Now my question is, whats the right order to do this in? Get the wheels first, so you know how much you should drop it? or drop first, then match wheels.. seems backwards to me but im none to sure. Then what about the body work?
If i get rims, then put a kit on then lower it? that seems like it would be the logical route to take no? thanks for the tips folks.

Welcome! Lowered, wheels, kit. Honestly a car looks better with a drop and stock wheels than no drop and aftermarket wheels. Kit you can piece together starting with a front or rear.

Plenty of inspiration on these boards. Take note of our "Sticky" threads

Welcome to CL, and congrats on the purchase.

I'd drop it first, then rims and then a kit. Sometimes deals pop up and you just "have to buy it" so there's really no order, just preference.. Unless you go new parts of course.

GL with your build!

Welcome to CL. Pretty much what Hoovey2411 said. You can find plenty of easy and cheap mods if you search or start from the top and work your way down on the 2IS forum.

Drop first then wheels

If your looking for a subtle body kit, look at the GFX kit

1000000000% agree. Someone above stated "deals just popping up where you HAVE TO buy" - totally happens. I recommend you use the afrorementioned process as an installation guide.

For example: You bought the wheels you've always wanted - Lower the car before you install them.

Regardless what you do, everyone here is going to have their two cents and a majority will be positive no mater what you end up doing. Just have fun with it!

Welcome to CL!

been looking around a bit, im thinking on just getting lowering springs, not full coilovers. lower it about an inch. I still want the performance, so i dont want to slam it and get the alignments off, and geometry problems.

So now I am thinking on lowering springs, with 19" rims.

Pros/Cons of lowering springs alone?

any significant lowering (even springs) will cause alignment to go out of wack and "geometry" problems.

cars weren't made to be lowered.

a lot of people that go springs end up switching to coilovers after anyways

Honestly If you think you can be content with springs then do it. I thought the same before I wanted lower. I should have skipped to coils. You don't need to slam it when you have coils, but just knowing you have that ability is nice especially when you decide the springs aren't low enough. I wish I could have saved myself the money on F-Sport Shocks and Springs which honestly combined were the same price as 4 coilovers. Up to you

I wish everyone who automatically thinks negativly about coils would read this

For some reason it seems like a lot of people think coils = slammed

OP, just make sure you know how low you want to go. Tons of people have gotten springs and then regret it because the drop isnt low enough. The beauty of coils is that you can adjust the height and ride comfort. With springs, your stuck with the height and ride quality
