Default Help, weird noise

Hopefully there isn't a thread about this already because i searched for it and haven't found anything. If there is another thread could someone tell me where it is?

Just incase someone ask I have a 2008 is250 AWD, it has NAV, Aux port is a headphone jack, stock non ML sound system.

Yesterday i was driving home and i got a call on my cell phone. I turned the volume of the radio to 0 and took the call. When I hung up the phone i could hear a static sounding noise coming from the speakers of the car. I turned the volume up but it wasn't on a static channel. So with the radio still on a channel playing music i turned the volume down to 0 again. Again I could still hear a slight static noise coming from the car speakers with the volume on 0. I can't figure out what this is. Hopefully it's not me going crazy or early signs of hearing lose. Is it a big deal? No i usually listen to music in the car any ways but I would like to know what it is and if I can fix it.

Has anyone else had this happen to them? Is this common?

Thanks

Mark Faul

I have this happened only when I use the aux port and charge the phone that's connected to it at the same time. There is a TSB for this, but I'm not sure if yours is exactly the same issue.

Thanks for the reply but what is a TSB?

I had heard of it being the case when a phone or ipod was hooked up into the aux port and being charged at the same time. But I wasn't listening the AUX port, I listening to the radio. Could it be the same thing?

TSB is technical service bulletin that Lexus sometimes creates to fix a specific problem -- it normally states the exact issue, parts needed, steps, and model year of the car for dealerships. The static noise TSB is here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-released.html But that's for aux port, so it doesn't apply to you. Does this happen on CDs too? If it only happens on radio I wouldn't worry about it.

yes it happens with the CDs too... Does Lexus post a list of the TSBs? Are there any TSBs for my car (08 is 250AWD) that I should be aware of?

Is your car still under basic warranty? The TSBs only covers cars under warranty. If you car is over 50K miles or over 4 years after the in service date, it won't be covered. If you're still under warranty, I would take it to the dealer.

I'm just bought it 2 months ago with a certified pre-owned warranty. So I'll take it in and see what they say. Thanks a lot for your help.
