Problem with aux port
I have a lexus is 350 '08. and i listen to my ipod a lot. just recently it stoped working. i plug it in and after a while it loses connection and jumps to disc. i noticed that if i push the aux cord towards the back seat a little it starts to work again. but loses connection after a while. I have bought 2 different aux cords, both of $30 or more
what can I do, its not under warrenty any more and i dont want to spend anymore money...

Assuming that the cables you've tried are the correct ones (i.e., with a 3.5mm stereo plug), it's likely the jack in the car is bad. Looks like it is part number 8619048010 and is $91.78 at Sewell with the CL discount.
I know you said that you don't want to spend any money, but as Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger sings, "You can't always get what you want".

Is it an old generation iPod? Not that I know if the newer ones have Bluetooth, but if it does have Bluetooth you can just set it up for streaming instead of using the cable.
I no longer use my aux port since my phone is where I play my music from and it is set up on Bluetooth streaming.

if it is the aux port, which I think it is, i came across this when I was looking for a plastic trim piece that goes between the ashtray and bottom of the radio unit. Thought this might help and its something you could probably do your self. its from Swelle. http://is.sewellparts.com/accessorie...2006/5403.html

depending on how many miles you have on it, then lexus might help you out with it. I brought my car in and my warranty is definitely out since may and they are currently fixing my AUX port. I had a similar problem that only played sound in one side of the car. I mentioned the whole wining noise while charging. At the same time I also asked about the warranty issue due to the fact that I was stationed overseas when the warranty ran out. Lexus was nice enough to cover the costs.

To the OP, its not an issue with the AUX cable you're using, its an issue with the AUX port itself. I have an 07 is350 and have the same issue, although I need to push the port to the passenger seat not the back.
There's a PDF or posting somewhere on how to remove the center console, might want to do that and see if anything is loose in side. I haven't had time to inspect mine, but either way its free and fairly quick to check. Better than just going out and dropping $100
From what I remember, unscrew the shift ****, silver trim on sides of tunnel pop out towards back, and then I think the center was just held in by clips (so that pops out as well)
Don't quote me on it, been a while since I did that to hardwire my STI R Plus into the car (more on that later....)
While you're add it and in there you might want to add an in-line filter to the AUX port if you want to get rid of the whine when you are charging your device and listening to music (if you have that issue)
There was a TSB on it, but gotta be under warranty for it (assuming your Local Lexus Dealership won't hook you up).
But more than likely, like Bichon said, your AUX input area may be starting to go bad.....

Did you every get this issue fixed because it looks like I'm having the same issue with my 06 IS 350. The AUX port had been working fine it just stop working all of a sudden. Not sure if the SAT radio has anything to do with it I saw this on another thread. It came with the car when I bought it.
