Sunroof delete questions
I have a 2006 350 and I dont really ever use a sunroof. I think sunroofs looks nice I just have no need for the extra weight(especially it being on the top of the car). I'm a "spirited driver" and I want to improve my cars performance as much as i can with as little money as i can. I already know this is the wrong car to mod blah blah blah I took my spare/jack out, got lightweight wheels, and a Joe Z intake and keep my tank at 1/2to 3/4 full. Thinking about getting an exhaust made but idk its kinda expensive. Back to the topic, I want to remove the sunroof and fill it with a carbon fiber plug like this guy did http://pic80.picturetrail.com/VOL836.../333055584.jpg
Does anyone know anything about how to remove our sunroof and how it will affect the headliner/lights and the thing that you open/close to see out of the sunroof? Do they sell oem sunroofless roofs that you could "bolt on"? Thanks guys.

Replace the glass with polycarbonate. Many high-end cars have poly rear windows, engine covers, etc. But realistically, the IS is so heavy, that little bit isn't going to make any difference even with those other changes.
You wont shave much weight removing the sunroof, as most likely the railing is aluminum and a small piece of glass.
For the cost of custom making a carbon fiber insert, you can shave more weight off by removing the seats and adding buckets.

Stock it is.
Intake and exhaust probably gets you around 320 at the motor though. Closer to 330 with headers.
I was actually disappointed Lexus wouldn't let me order the car without a sunroof (other than with the X package, which was missing too much compared to the sport package for me to do it)

Lol jeez, idk if I'm willing to do that to my car. Bought it for its luxury/sport aspects. If I want all sport ill just hop in my gfs 350z lol. Sucks to hear it doesn't make any difference, I was hoping to make my car a tad but quicker..
