Default Off a roll?

So, I know this has been mentioned numerous times in the forum but I just want an actual confirmation. From what I've gathered, when Sport mode is on it disables the ECT. So, off let's say a 25mph roll and I'm trying to speed up to 70mph, would it be faster with sport mode or D? I feel a big difference in throttle response with the sport mode, but I've read around saying that you get better times with D. I understand that you get better times off D if your off the line, but what about a roll?

If you're trying to get from 25 MPH to 70 MPH in the quickest time possible have your car in sport mode with a lower gear selected (maybe 3rd), hit the gas and then switch it over to D (ECT normal) so that it can upshift. It's a lot of work to save very little time; I usually just keep my car in D (ECT power).
