Default ML System slowly dying?

For some reason my speakers are slowly going out around the car. First the sub stopped getting power a couple of months ago and now the driver’s side speakers aren't working. I tried adjusting it so all the sound would be on the left side but you can barely hear anything coming out of it even with the volume up at 50.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Also does anyone have a diagram of how all the wires are run so I can maybe start pulling the car apart?

Could be a few things, but given that you are loosing "sides" all at once, I'm guessing a molex style connection is working its way apart. Have you been messing around behind the dash? My guess it's a front end connector maybe directly in the back of the main unit. From there I believe it would branch of to go to different amps (not familiar with your system - I'm just generally knowledgeble about stereo stuff). If it was one of those, you'd lose what ever that amp controls, but nothig else...so I'd start behind your center dash unit.... good luck

The stock amp may be dying

I had a similar situation where I couldnt hear any volume from my radio so I went to the dealer. It turns out that it was the amp and they replaced it under warranty

I haven't messed with anything behind the dash so that's out. I will pull out the nav though and see if any things loose.

Hopefully it's not the amp because the warranty has been gone for awhile but I'll have to check that too.

its the factory amp for sure! one day i was driving and the whole left side went out! i knew it was the amp because i install sounds for a living, so i took the amp to the dealer for a swap out and reinstalled it and everything worked again. no problems since then. the SA told me these amps are crap and they change alot of them. my warranty took care of it otherwise its $300 to replace. if you want to just change the amp to a different brand youyll be in for some work for sure, i redid my entire system, but i used the factory amp to play the tweets and 3" mids, the 6.5 speakers are own thier own amp with new 6.5 speakers. i just used the signals comming out of the amp and redirected it to the new 4ch amp for the mids. I AM REFERING TO A PIONEER STOCK AMP, JUST REALIZED POST SAYS ML SYSYEM. but im willing to bet it is still the amp.

sounds like an amp issue... possibly get a volt meter and run some test
