Exclamation battery replacement question

Hi everyone

My girlfriend owns a 08 IS250, and battery finally died today .
Going to replace it for her later. I am wondering if she will need any programing after replacement, or it's just simple swap ( I know that my bmw 328 needed programing after replacement.) And what make/model I need to get?
Also her car have navigation and i would like to know is there any possibility that radio or nav. can get locked after change.
Thanks in advance !

I think the reprograming is specific to BMWs. The newer Bimmers are the only cars Iknow of that requires this (i have no idea why they would do that to their customers).

Regarding the NAV, just make sure it's off (in radio mode) before swapping the battery out. Both BMW and Range Rover will lock out the NAV if you don't allow the NAV to shut down completely before removing the battery.

Nothing special required other than the window reset.

Be hardcore... use a jumpbox to start it, and change it out while it's running...

My car battery has been replaced twice since 2008 (original last 3 years, next one last 1 year).

Average life of an automotive battery is between 36 and 48 months, regardless of the manufacturer's boasts in terms of warranty (OE or aftermarket). Lexus' OE batteries are better than many, as my experience has been that many OE batteries give up the ghost after 2-3 years.
