ok.. so I have been being lazy about installing the reverse cam (didnt wanna take the unit back out) and I decided to let someone else do it and save me the time and hassle. I didnt like the attitude I got from the guy at the audio shop "the all knowing" cocky attitude so I have decided to install the cam myself again. I only have one question though, the post in this thread refer to the blue reverse wire and the ccd+12v wire on the back of the unit one is for camera power and the other lets the unit know when to switch to the camera.. but the camera I purchased has a red and yellow jack.. yellow being video output of course and a red and black wire.. one pos. one neg. which im sure taps into the actual reverse light pos and neg.. that being said I am still a few wires short if I need to use the two wires on the back of the unit.. or will the cam still work without using these just through the video input on the unit? Sorry if this is confusing. Thanks for any help.

You're first step is to tap your backup camera's power into the tail light harness power. Then run both the power and video wires to the center console where the nav unit is. Afterwards see below

3 wire from the Nav Unit for Back up cam

1) Yellow RCA: This goes into the yellow RCA from your backup camera
2) Blue REVERSE wire: Feed the backup camera 12v (wire that you tapped into reverse lights) source into this blue reverse wire
3) CCD 12V wire (Grey): Do nothing

You should be fine with the 2 wires. Let me know if any questions or if further details are needed.

Can anyone confirm if RDS works in the radio application? The manufacturer says that the unit supports RDS but I only see the radio station's frequency number, never seen any text. Is it the same on your unit too?

No RDS on mine either. After looking at some of the China and Russia websites, it looks like the IS*50 model still runs on an old version of the GUI and executables.

In all fairness, I believe that other units do have a more polished and up to date software/firmware than ours. If at least we had the source code for the software running, it would make it a breeze to update on our own.

Maybe inquire about a software upgrade to the wholesaler/retailer or Roadrover.

Following the instructions from the Word doc and you should be fine. The only confusing part is #3. After you click on Update from the menu, you'll be in a Windows CE desktop which then you can double tap on the My Device. The red X button on top can be use to delete things that's highlighted.
Thanks nosurprise. Radio problem fixed! Now on to finding a fix for the temperature issue...

I don't have RDS either so I checked the description of the unit I purchased and it shows it as optional... I'm going to ask my sales rep about this and see if there is something that can be done.

Just got the USB gender changer, however when I plug in the USB Drive (8GB @ FAT 32), the system locks up and reboot itself.

Does anyone else experiencing this?

U have to cut the plug that comes with it and splice a regular USB female, the wires don't match otherwise! I think that plug it's meant to go in the newer consules that already have a USB on it. I tried to put my hardrive on it with a USB coupling and it was doing the same!

Looking to buy one of these units soon and wanted to ask a few questions to all the people who have purchased one of them:

1) Are the units sold by Bonroad the same as the ones sold by LSQ star? I know Roadrover supplies them both but I emailed both Bonroad and LSQ and LSQ is insisting that the Bonroad units are fake copies of the Roadrover units. Any truth to this? Reason is Bonroad is offering me a price of $420 per unit and LSQ is $560 a unit. LSQ says anyone selling a unit for $420 is definitely fake.

2) What are your experiences with both companies? LSQ literally emails me 2-3 times a day saying "I only have 1 unit left please send paypal asap" and seems really pushy to sell one. Bonroad is out of stock and should have more in toward the middle of the month. LSQ I deal with someone named "Jonin" and Bonroad I am dealing with "Jennie".

Thank you for any input you may have!

I bought mine from jonin too from lsq 6 months ago, love it!!
Not really sure if there is an actuall difference in the units but sellers will tell u anything to make a sell. At the end of the day IMO they r all a copy of the original so what's the difference which one u get!! If u can get it for under 500 it's a good deal to me.

The units are different; even within the same supplier is different I think ... I notice there are some with large amount of internal memory (like 2 GB) that you can load maps into without an SD card. The one I have only has 500MB and needs an SD card.

See if you can get a deal from LSQ's Jery (?) from a couple pages back. This is the only person that have reply to emails and help fix the annoying radio frequency problem.

I'm the one who bought it from Jery Tang at LSQ and she has been VERY responsive and helpful. This is the unit I purchased last month: http://www.lsqbusiness.com/qqxx/enimage.asp?id=272
My unit only has 128MB of internal memory so I have to run the maps off the SD card.

You can contact her at this address Sales9@lsqbusiness.com and ask for a quote if you'd like. Tell her Corinne sent you - She still keeps in touch even though I have no issues with the unit!
She sold it to me for $420. Although she mentioned that they were now selling them for $600, you may be able to negotiate it down.

Right now I have been getting replies from both ccompanies easily, and the big difference is price. Lsq for $560 vs $420 for bonroad. I will try to email Jery and see if I can get it for $420 but if the bonroad is a 2gb memory version for $420 I may do that since people are getting the LSQ version with llow amounts of memory.
