Default Rear ender

Unfortunately I was involved in a rear end collision last week. My car was scheduled to go into the shop after the long weekend for a full vertex kit before I was rear ended downtown thursday afternoon.

I still have hopes of putting the vertex kit on but that's only if the repairs can still be made. Does this look like a write off or is there still hopes of repair ?

Looks salvageable. Good thing that comes out of this is maybe the insurance will give you enough money to cover painting and installing the kit as well

u in AB right? The other party's adjuster will try to screw you any way he can, remember, his party is at fault. Regardless of what coverage you have, his party is responsible for ALL your costs, including rental car even if you don't have that coverage through your own insurance. He may try to tell you otherwise, but no, his fault, his liability.

Also, ensure you get him to factor in "loss of future resale value" right up front. Being that the car has been in an accident, your ability to resale and the price you will get is impaired.

Soft tissue injuries are limited to $4k settlement, but all medical, ancilliary and other expenses to bring you back to full health are his responsibilities regardless of costs. This include "attendant" care related expenses. If your neck, back and shoulders hurt to the point that you can't help with house cleaning and cutting the lawn, they have to pay.

Been there, done that, have the sore a$$ rim to proves how I was screwed in a similar situation.

Yeah I live in AB, and this is why i hate accidents.
My adjuster says the other insurance won't admit to fault until they speak to their client, and their client isn't answering calls.
I've already been a week without a car, let the waiting game begin ? Thanks for the advice, i'll keep everything in mind

Rent a car on your CC, if the aduster complains, tell him you"ll just include it in your statement of claims anyway. If he wants to keep costs down, then he can arrange rental at their rate now.
