all that money you going to pay for lease is gonna be the same amount of money your car will depreciate, especially if your wife only going to drive around 10k a month, why not drive brand new car vs used one especially if your not planning on keeping it forever.

for the price u are willing to pay for a 250 u might as well take a look at the 350. fly to another state if u have to and drive the car back, u will be grinning from ear to ear trust me. then when ur wife drives it put it on snow mode .

So how does that work though? Like if i got it from another state, whats the process of getting tags in order for me to drive it back?

I considered this same idea, but have been hesitant...and not sure it's worth it for less than $2k

If you buy in another state, it should be no problem if you buy from a dealer...

If you buy from an individual, just be aware that in some states they keep the tags and you will have to get some sort of a temporary or "in transit" tag in order to get it home.

My is250 awd is an 08. Bought it with 28,2xx miles from a CPO Lex dealer for $23.5
Has every option except for park assist (iirc)
Love it except for when I put the loud pedal to the floor. Then it just whispers...
But hell, I needed the awd and can't afford the new 350 with it. So I get what I get.

Shop around, there's TONS of them out there. An out of state sale is not a big deal as everything is data linked now anyway.

An 07 IS250 with around 70k miles is not bad at $20K-$21K. The 250 is good enough for your wife, unless you're married to Danica Patrick.

You can contact your state's MVD or DMV and ask them the process I was looking into this when I was buy my car, like the other poster said, most likely you need a temporary transit tag.

For up to $26k, you should check out the IS350. CPO would be nice or if you can find one still under factory warranty.

You can drive the car without a tag, just have the title, bill of sale and proof of insurance with you. IF you get stopped, you would have all of your documentation with you to prove you just purchased the car.

every state I've seen offers temp tags for doing this... I don't recommend trying to drive without plates... it's begging to get pulled over... often.

sweet! Thanks for all the replies. We're looking at some 350's in other states right now, mainly northern east coast (NY, NJ, DE). I'll keep you all posted on what we find and when we purchase...lookin to pull the trigger in November. Still building a hefty down payment to get the monthly payments lo!
