Default 1st gear knock

I bought a 2008 IS250 RWD 6sp with 34K, I've been noticing a "knock" noise when the car is put into first gear and the car isn't moving. I took it to the dealer and they were not able to resolve my issues, it's something that does not happen all the time. I just want to know if that's normal or someone else has experiences something like that.

To me it sounds like the shift-lock mech on the trans. I get the slight knock when putting it into P sometimes.

I driver a manual never had any problems with the gear, but a short shifter would help out a lot....

Shifting into first is pretty rough on my 2is. And it has been on the few others that I've driven as well. Keep in mind what transmission is put into these cars.
