check engine, check battery lights = car not start
i just finished a 750 mile trip from orlando to nashville. i parked at my friends house with 24 miles till empty for about 10 minutes. when i went to start my car again, it wouldnt start. the engine would kinda turn and then give up, leaving just the power on. the check engine and battery lights were on.
i tried this 2-3 more times and i got the same thing. i looked under the hood and didnt see anything suspicious, and i had my oil changed about 2 days ago before the trip.
went back into the car and noticed the driver sent ventilation was on 3 so i turned it off and tried starting the car again. this time it turned on. i did it 5 times and it seemed as if the failed starts never happened.
anyone else ever experience this or know wtf was going on?

just got back from autozone. incase anyone was wondering, it was the alternator. according to autozone my battery was not getting fully charged due to the low voltage output of the alternator.
he said I need a new one bc mine (allegedly) is beginning to fail and my car battery is running during long trips without getting charged. thoughts?

Just because you bought your car used in January doesn't mean they change the battery out. The place you bought your car obviously isn't going to spend the money on something that it isn't broke.
How many miles does your car have? Also what is the output from the alternator?

they checked the battery and it registered fine
the alternator was putting out 13.13 volts or something like that, and they said that it wasnt drastically low, but it was low enough to raise questions on if it was failing. so my car battery wasnt getting charged up like it should have been, so when i stopped my car for 10 mins, the battery had died.
