Default Repainting car

Hey guys! So I got in an accident a while back and my poor baby was in bad shape .. It's getting fixed right now and should be like new soon!

The repair shop says that they will have to repaint a lot of the car except for like 3 doors and a panel.. My question is does anyone know how much it would cost to just repaint the whole car? Orr if possible a different color? I have it in black but always wanted white... Just not sure if it's worth it

You should talk to the shop doing the work, you might make some kind of deal.

Quick thread jacking question, if you are still paying off the car can you still repaint the car a different color? You don't technically own the car...yet. lol

Only your bodyshop can answer your questions since they are doing the work and have their own pricing. Just ask them how much it would be to have the rest of the car repainted and/or how much it would be to have the whole car repainted a totally different color. You will have to pay the difference (cost of painting the whole car minus how much insurance claim was for originally). If you really are thinking about getting it done, ask them ASAP so they don't paint the car now and then go back and repaint the unpainted areas later. It's better if they just do all the work at once.

I believe you can, but the creditor should be notified of the color change (so if anything does happen - they don't think you tried to paint the car to hide it)

If the car is repo'd tho, you are still on the hook for any amount owed over what they end up selling the car for. Since repainting a car usually diminishes the value, you may end up owing more than if the car was never painted.

I'd've done this before and it all depends on how much work is involved for them. They won't care about painting what is damaged because they have to paint it anyway. The issue is if you're completely changing the color like you stated, there is a lot of work to paint the jambs and inside the trunk. Also a lot longer in the shop. I've always thought if you were going to change the color of the car, might as well paint it something that doesn't come stock.
