Center cap emblem removal (for painting)
I just had my spider rims painted and plan to paint the center caps also. The guy didn't want to mask around each chrome piece, but said that if I took them off, he could paint them.
Has anyone taken these off? It looks like plastics posts are melted over, and would need to be cut off on the back side...

If its anything like the plastic chrome trim inside the car, if you break those little plastic pieces off the back (just melted plastic) then the Lexus L should just come right out. But I havnt done it to know for sure.

For reference, the plastic bumps can be sanded off with a dremel. The guy painted the center caps at a different time and they didn't match, so I had them painted black. I used a solder gun to melt the plastic back together. Here is a before and after:
