Default 08 Lexus Rusting... Warranty Issue? Pls. Help!!

Hi there,

I noticed a small rust at the back of the rear door driver side. I can see the paint cracking even more, and there's rusting, approx. 2 cm long. My 08 IS250 AWD is still under warranty. Do you think the warranty would cover this? I've been searching around, and it seems as though the rust must penetrate through the panel before they would fix it under warranty. Has anyone experienced this with any Lexus Vehicles? Can't take it in tomorrow since it's Good Friday, but would appreciate some of your thoughts and feedbacks regarding this issue.

Further note, the car hasn't been rustproofed since it was bought. All I know is that there's a 72 month warranty on rust from Lexus.

Here are a few shots of the rust. Can't seem to get a decent shot of the damn thing, but to give you an idea, here they are:

Thank You

It should be covered. They only way they should deny is if the car has. Even in a collision.

Pretty sure rust is only covered if it perforates a panel, not surface rust.

The question is why is rust forming there? It looks like the car has been in a small accident which caused the door to be misaligned and started to rub against the body.

I took it in, now waiting for head office to determine whether they will cover it or not. I was quoted 1000$ plus tax to get it fix.

It would seem so... I just happen to have my window sticker right here and it says "6YR/Unlimited mile corrosion perforation warranty"

Key word there is perforation.
