Default How to remove interior door handles?

I searched and maybe I am the only crazy one out there but I had all my wood grain professionally painted piano black but the silver door handles that you use to close the door are sticking out like a sore thumb. Do these just pop off? I cannot get them off and the last thing i want to do is break them!! Any help would be great!

Ill post pics after my canibeat feature posts up next week.

remove the door panel.
remove 2 metal brackets.
remove some more screws.
pull door panel and handle bar area apart slightly just enough to pull the plastic silver piece out.

sorry.. dont have any pics. i replaced my silver handle bars with silver CF not too long ago.
