I'm led to believe this too. Is it also possible that the gauge is not calibrated correctly? I think that is quite an offset to be true, but it may very well be if the suggestion proves negative with your mechanic.

I'm gonna be taking the car in this week and gonna have my mechanic see whats what with everthing from the tank itself, to the fuel lines and i'm sure i will get some resolve to this issue...i'll keep you guys posted...i've gotten a lot of great ideas from the response to this thread...and theres no way it wont be fixed after it leaves his shop...and its mainly from all your responses...thanks everyone!

I had the same issue on my Pathfinder. You either have sludge or debreis in your tank. When I had the issue a friend and I droped the tank a emptied it the best we could. after it cleared up pretty good.
