so i had the bubbling issue on my '11 IS when i first looked at it sometime in 2011 (maybe october or even earlier), it wasnt as bad as some members here. but im looking at my headlights now and the bubbling issue isnt very visible but theres a very small hint of where the bubble used to be.... you think i can still have my headlights changed under the TSB? anyone who replies to this, thank you in advance.

AS long as there is some sort of deformality CLEARLY visible, I do not see why you would get denied.

i had very minor rippling. Less than 1/2" ripples directly in front of the headlamps and they are being replaced. Just be sure to show them where it ripples

will give my local lexus dealership a call then. thanks for sharing the info guys.

a bit OFF TOPIC but if anyone could answer me, itd be greatly appreciated. I had a coworker tell me today that they saw the 2012 ISx50 on the road and i asked him how he knew that it was a 2012 model and he said that the rear was different, specifically the tail lights... can anyone link me or just tell me the differences other than the LEDs being brighter for 2012 models...THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.

You could try mentioning to the dealership that you heard there was a TSB for the headlights bubbling problem. The TSB is supposed to replace your 2011 headlights with the new 2012 headlights.

Let me give it to you in simple format....

The OLD 2011 headlight part numbers are toast...

When they order you the new replacement 2011 / 2012 headlight housings for your 2011 IS..

..They will AUTOMATICALLY receive the newest replacement parts, which have the new improvements..

Lack of dealer employee training is the issue your having right now.

Regards,

Joe Z

I had the TSB headlamps installed today on my 2009 IS350. (Great customer service from Sewell, by the way, in sending me the replacements). Here are a few things I noticed:

1. The 2012 LEDs do appear whiter as everyone mentioned, but slightly less bright to my eyes. With the old LEDs, I had to nearly close my eyes when looking at them directly they were so bright. The new LEDs I can look at straight on and not bother my eyes as much.
2. The material covering over the top of the round HID headlamp 'hump' is now a very dark, pebbly black/grey color. On the old lights, this material was plain black.
3. I noticed some very small dust particles in my headlamps before they were ever installed and am not sure how they got there.

Also, unrelated to the LEDs: When I turn on my lights, my bulbs do not seem to level (I don't see the movement of the light beam on my garage wall). I'll call the installer tomorrow and see if he did not connect the auto-leveling feature - does anyone know what is causing this?

Here is what I had done and in the same time had the dust particles removed via vacuum suction on the back of the headlight hole. It helped.

I just had the TSB done on my 2011, and i honestly don't see the difference in whiteness of the LED from the old ones. My car was built in June of 2011, I wonder if it's possible that by then Lexus had already switched to the 'whiter' LED?

The easiest way to contact him is through email on the website. He responded within 24 hours for me.

I noticed some of your other post about being concerned about headlights from sewell not being the latest revision. But clearly in the description it states they are

"Our exclusive, revised lamp kit includes everything required to retro-fit your 2006 to 2010 IS250, IS350 or IS-F with a seamless plug and play method for installation to the stylish look of the latest 2012MY LED Headlamps. The loaded headlamp option is required for IS models factory equipped with the standard, base package Halogen head lamps."
