Default rock chip windshield

hi guys
is it normal to have tiny rock chips on the windshield? Do most of you have it?
I notice two tiny pin size chips, it's not cracked, just chipped.
I wonder if this is normal driving hazards.

^you can have it repaired for free if the crack is less than 1 inch, but if it cracks usually you will have to pay a deductible to get it replaced. Check with your insurance agent.

it's not even a "crack" just chipped the size of a pin.. don't think the repair resin can even enter.
guess I'll live w it until it cracks.

Those little tiny pits will always happen, especially if you do a lot of highway driving. I had a lot on my windshield before it was replaced. You can't really avoid them and they don't really need to be repaired unless they are large enough to warrant a repair. You can always check with a local shop that does windshield repairs though, most will give free estimates.

Insurance might pay for it depending on your insurance. But might not be worth it depending on your deductible.

Btw the pits will happen. I had my windshield replaced 2 times with less than 30k miles in the past 5 years.

State Farm replaces your windshield without paying your deductible. I'm sure other insurance companies do this as well.

Completely normal to have rock chips in your windshield. Most major insurance companies should have free glass replacement or repair. I have been with State Farm and American family both have free glass.
