Default DIY Cup holder question

I am currently CF wrapping my interior, and I stumbled across a problem.
I was wondering how did you guys remove this piece for the cup holder?

I couldn't find anything about it, because everyone just simply shows a picture of it already removed!
Im scared to break anything so any tips would help! Thanks!
