Default Does the 3M tape work for the spoiler?

I hate the look of not having a spoiler on my new 06 is350. I plan to get a spoiler from ebay but want to ask you guys about the installation. Most of the spoilers on ebay are like 3M tape. Does this actually work and stick on? Would you guys recommend it?

Yes, 3m is really strong I use that for my roof spoiler. If you want a clear tape use loctite it's actually 5x stronger than 3m. I use loctite for my rear lip.

3M tape is very strong so you won't have any problem with rear lip spoiler

3M tape is the best! Using it for my roof spoiler and trunk spoiler, stands up to rain, weekly car washes, etc no issues!

Which buyers from ebay did you buy the spoiler from? There are so many of them and i don't know which one has the best color matched and quality. I have a 06 tungsten pearl.

Make sure you will be using 3M's automotive acrylic plus attachment tape... The tape is black in color.

It's also advisable to prep the area well before installing your spoiler. You can also use 3M's adhesion promoter prior to installing your spoiler.

if you are really worried .. even tho 3m will bond with proper prepping of the surface area..
there is an alternative

loctite double sided tape, which will hold and bond 100 ++ lbs 3/4 x 60 inches of this tape basically if you want to even play a prank on someone wrap him up while sleeping and tape him up on the wall if you feel like a few rolls of 5 feet of this will do

How does the adhesion promoter affect the paint? It seems to be pretty popular, so I imagine it wouldn't do much, if any damage at all?

I forgot when I got installed my spoiler. Probably around March of April of 08. The spoiler is still holding up. The summers in my part of Texas is pretty brutal. The good thing about using the 3M tape is that if you decide to switch to a different spoiler like the F-style you can just remove the spoiler with no filling holes made by the drilling.
