Powder coating grille
Hi I was looking to painting my grille black to match my car but i wasn't sure if regular paint is good enough to keep the grille from chipping. Would you guys suggest i powder coat the grille or just take it to a shop to get it painted? Thanks
Assuming the grille you have is plastic, you cant powdercoat it. Everyone gets theirs painted. Yes it is prone to paint chips, but they dont happen frequently or sometimes at all. I painted my grille back in the summer and i dont have any rock chips. I did have a small chip due to installation, but i touched it up.
Have it vinyl wrapped or get it painted.
The advantage of vinyl wrap is it'll withstand rock chips better and you can always replace or remove it in the future. When I had my grill painted they sanded it down, painted it and added clear coat.
