Plasti Dip ? (Hood)
Anybody ever Plasti-dipped their hood, if so can you post a picture ? How many cans do you think it would take to do it ? Also about how many cans would it take to color four rims ?
Thanks

Don't do the hood dude, that's way to much plastidip, it'll look like crap trust me. Small parts here and there is fine but a hood is too much surface. Vinyl wrapping is definetly the better route to go if your not looking for anything permanent.
If you were able to successfully apply it to the hood, it would be so sticky you would have difficulty cleaning it. That stuff is rough and tacky, and it catches a lot of dust and rag fibers. Vinyl is the way to go. I agree with Rikg35, I would like to see pics too, that would be something else.

For the wheels I've heard that it takes about 2-4 cans depending on how big the wheel is, curb rash, etc.
I believe the hood will need about just 2 cans, maybe 3. If you know what you're doing, I say do it. There are a few YouTube videos on it that could be very helpful. The Plasti-dip does have a rough texture, but they also have the glossifier that makes it glossy. It could turn out good or it can turn out bad, worst case scenario you can just simply peel it off.
Here are a couple of examples:

Good luck, hope this helps! If you decide to do it, post pics!

Although this is removal of plastidip, this might help to give you an idea of what it'll be like.

A roof wrap cost around $200 in my area (vinyl and labor included)... a little bit more if they use 3Ms Di-Noc CF wrap so a hood wrap may not be too far from that.
Matte black or CF would look fine on a silver... good color contrast

Keep it classy and it will look good with either choice.
