I read in another section of CL, that our cars have all the wiring for the Parking Assist and that by adding the six sensors, the Computer, the Buzzer and the clips the system should just work...
Anyone here tried it?
$1,481.17 in parts, but it's cheaper than buying a new car.
Some have noted when taking off the front bumper, that there were additional empty plug sockets hanging out. This is assumed to be the wiring harness for the parking sensors.
I took off my bumper too and see how they were connected, and I didn't see empty sockets on mine. So I can't 100% confirm this. Also you would need new bumpers with parking sensor cutouts, unless you want to cut your old bumpers. They are currently $1000+ painted/shipped for both, on Sewell after clublexus discount.
I got the computer already, and hoping for the sensors any day now. I have a diagram of where the holes go, but his post also says the locations are marked on the back of the bumper...
I'll keep you posted. Here's a PDF for the dealer installed kit from Lexus I don't think it's available anymore, and I really want the system interfaced so it will warn me if there is something too close to the back to put the top down.

Piece of advice: Just because your car has parking sensors and/or backup camera to help you park safely in tight places, doesn't mean the other cars parked in your front or rear have them also... Meaning that you may not bump your/other cars but they will bump you! I learned that the hard way on my old car, now I park away from others so the sensors are unnecessary.

yes i would also be interested, I did take what someone said up top about others you park around not having park assist. So you are just always better off parking at the easiest place.
