Why is it bad if the car is cute?

What irks me is when people in their kia optimas try to tell me how their car is better then mine.

 

Compared to my prior cars, 2002 honda civic lx coupe and 2010 honda fit sport, the 2011 lexus is 250 awd has really solid feeling doors.

 

eh, yes, a lot better than my 2000 Civic :-) I like it better than the BMW 3-series doors too -- you have to slam those and doesn't sound as nice.

We man like to conquer and destroy like the good old days where we sail on ships, ride horses and wear funny hats ... you can't do that in a cute car.

Isn't it commom knowledge that horses are cute? Every girl wants one at some time or another.

But you can still be a demon behind the wheel of one of these cars especially if it's a 350. Plenty of horse power got those who feel the need to strike their male ego.

rear leg room from passengars, 99% of the time its just me so dosen't bother me much and I knew it when i bought the car.

Well,

I am German. My german friends look weird at me when I tell them I drive a Lexus. Like I am some sort of alien. Lexus has no brand image in Germany (in the new car charts by car model ranges they are not in the top30) and hence no re-sale value. Once they visit me in Dubai and I take them around in the Lexus (all options, except sunroof and navi), they are very very impressed. "That's actually a very nice car and so luxurious...and refined" is the most often heard comment.

In the UAE Lexus has a very high brand image and a fabulous re-sale value btw.

 

Lexus IS = Cute
Dodge Charger = Masculine

i think color also has a lot to do with it. A black IS is less likely to be called cute than a red or starfire pearl. Even the bright blue can be called cute.
