Default Here we go again! :D

So, Here's a list of off the wall threads I've posted that have gotten me yelled at, lectured and generally regarded as a special needs kid. Essentially I get it in my head that something would be cool to do and then I post it on here trying to guage the "do-ability". At which point I get told to go sit in the corner and to think about what I've said.

1-swapping a 2jz into my is350 with everything still working.
2-designing my own bodykit/front bumper
3-supercharging/running +7 lbs of boost on a 2gr-fse
4-putting front brake calipers on my rear brakes (instead of buying a tgrue big break kit)

and now here's another.

How feasible, would it be to say....put a CT200 front bumper on an is350? I love the facia of the CT but I want to burn the rest of it at the stake...pluss I'll never trade my is350 for any other model (that doesn't have an F in the name). So I want to mount the CT facia on my is. The angles of the lights seem similar and would require minimal moulding/sculpting. I'm a little worried about where the front bumper marry's to the fender and (oc course) the mounting point differneces, Just the same, what do you guys think? Possible? Feasible? Am I being retarded again?

Almost anything is possible in life. Switching the front bumper might work, all you need is a body shop, time and some muscle. I'm sure someone on the forums with some photoshop skills can get a picture out.

If that's what you want to do, just do it. Who cares what others have said, it's just their opinions. Do what you like/love because you're the one who will be driving the car.

Good luck on the idea. Post some pics if you do it.

A lot of time, the naysayers are just repeating what others have told them. Anything is possible with time and effort. If you want to drop a 2JZ in, go ahead. People are going to prevent you from doing it because getting the rest of the electronics to work will be a headache, but it has been done before.

4-putting front brake calipers on the rear brakes though may not be best for brake bias. You'd still want the front brakes to be larger, so you could put the IS250 front brakes on your rear.

Yeah the brake idea was kind of a dumb one. But I happened to have an extra pair of front calipers and was trying to think of something to do with them.
As for the time/effort/money thing. I agree whole heartedly. The 2jz engine swap has run guys 30,000$ and those guys stilll dont have all the electronics worked out correctly and I can't say I dont see why.
The main thing I'm concerned with is the CT front bumper being too larg or the mounting points being so out of wack it will be unstable. I've already photochopped the bumper on (looks pretty good lol) I just hope the reality at least somewhat resembles the shop job.

I've been doing alot of body work on my car. In fact I just started to raise my quarter panels today to meet my molded replica wald spoiler. I can tell you now that job would not be feasible, sculpting would not be minimal. First off Molding fiberglass/bondo/ duraglass etc onto a plastic bumper is a no go. It wouldn't stick and even if it did will surely come off or break off, crack etc etc... will the proper mounting points meet up? doubtful. can you create a bracket of some sort to screw it in yes. But once again it just goes back to molding onto plastic is gonna be a total failure. You can plastic weld but that will be a pain. In the end not worth it. Are you retarded no. Thats cool that you wanna be different than everyone else and do different mods.

^^^ I agree

since i was a kid i have been around modding in cars, more specifically classic trucks. Who would have thought to put a Camaro 2 front end independent suspension in a 1956 F-100. .... get the idea.... since cars have been around mods have happened. That is the beauty of restoring and modding a car. Vehicles are ART and they are the canvases of our ideas. Good thing our IS cars are a beautiful canvas already

keep thinking of great ideas. nothing is stupid unless you think it is, its your ride!

Retarded, maybe. All those things are possible but will require a lot of time, effort, & money, to the point that it won't be worth it, unless you're rich and slightly retarded, IMHO.
