I'll keep this story short.

My friend, sister, and my cousin from NY was all going out. It was around 12:30AM. My sister and my friend were in her car (Madza 3) and I was following behind with my cousin in my car. We were going about ~50mph in a 45mph zone.

We're both driving south, and then all of a sudden an SUV infront of my friend swerves out onto the next lane. We didn't know it then, but he was avoiding another car (Tercel) coming from the opposite direction (North), which ended up hitting my friend's car. My friend didn't even see the car coming.

Since I was following my friend, I was right behind her. I tried slamming on my brakes, but it was to late. I hit my friend's car going about ~45mph. The airbags were deployed in all 3 cars.

The driver of the Tercel was very intoxicated. Extremely over the legal limit. He also has no insurance, driver's license, and is an illegal immigrant. He just turned 21 about a week ago.

We all walked away with minor cuts and bruises. We're all lucky to be alive and not seriously injured.

WHAT. THE. F***. Reckless driving AND illegal? I MEAN COME ON. I'm so glad no one died. This is bull******. Glad you're safe man.

Man another 2is accident thread. Glad no one was seriously hurt. There's just too many irresponsible, ignorant, wreckless drivers out there that aren't considerate of others on the road. And the law is just too easy on drunk drivers that do get caught. Cops need to find a better way of cracking down on drunk drivers so stuff like this doesn't happen vs handing out tickets for no front plates and window tint etc...

 

Sad to see this but glad all are fine. What was the 3rd car ? Looks like a BMW ?

 

The drunk driver was driving a Toyota Tercel. My friend was driving a Madza 3, and I was driving my car (IS250). I was the 3rd car to hit.

My friend only has 6,000 miles on her Madza 3, and I only have 25,000. Both are 2010.

 

Glad you and your family are ok, that sucks, no insurance and illegal means your insurance company is paying for all of it.

Hope u get to see him off at the airport when he gets deported.

 

I got to see him get out of his car and walk onto the sidewalk. Didn't even ask us if we were alright, or help us if anyone was injured. The cops only took 3 minutes to get to the scene after I called 911. But he's definitely getting deported.

 

Glad you, your sis, cousin and friend are ok. The driver of the Trecel is a douche. He's lucky he is not here in AZ. Mandatory 30 days in tent, revocation of license for a year, after that must have a breathalyzer installed on his car for a year. Guess now it will be jail time and deportation for him.

Great news you guys were OK. I hope that drunk driver gets what's coming. Upsetting to see your car had been ruined over something like that. I hate hearing about these drunk drivers on the news everyday and especially since my co-worker was hit by one a year ago.

 

thank god you guys are ok....cars are replaceable but not the drivers.....
