Do you need to get the ADD-ONS like HID HARNESS or ERROR ELIMINATOR from the DDM TUNING website? would either of these make the kit any safer to operate on the car?

ddm for me..i had it for about years on my fogs..zero problem, until something hit my car last thursday. now i need a pair of bulb, but im still using their ballast...

 

I would REALLY appreciate if someone could fill me in on this as well. I've been wanting to get 5000k HID's for both my low beams and fogs, but wasn't sure if i needed to add these to my purchase. I don't want to spend more than i need to, however I do NOT want any electrical issues IF these were in fact necessary.

Look forward to hearing from an HID expert on this for a 2011 IS250 AWD

DDM TUNING IS FAIL I've ordered 3 kits and the first one i ordered 5000K n it ended up being yellow crap then second kit one of the fog bulbs already didn't work and third the right ballast went bad and they have lifetime warranty but its just annoying haveing to wait 2 weeks to get that light repaired. The only thing that ACTUALLY WORKS that i currently have is the 5000K Fogs after changing the bulbs 3 times.Honestly its a hit or miss but alot of ppl have good experiences but some have really bad luck like me. Just remember we drive a Lexus and buying a $50 hid kit....you get what you paid for.

 

Error eliminator is NOT needed.

HID Harness is optional. Get it if you want to do it just for safety. The reason most people run them is because when HID's fire up they draw/spike with more than usual voltage. This only lasts for a very short amount of time, but it's still drawing a larger amount of electricity on stock wiring. Plenty of people have run HID's without the harness without any issues. Some people choose to run it anyway just for extra precaution from that start up spike. I think our factory wiring should be able to handle it without any issues, but some people believe overtime that extra pull will slowly break down the factory wiring till it causes a short, and possibly a fire. I've only heard of it happening once on a Honda forum, but there was no way to confirm that was the real cause either.

As far as the HID kits themselves, I ran DDM kits for a couple years without any issues at all.
Great quality bulbs, and the color and light output was good to.

yeah my friend told me that people in bimmerforums were talking about how over the years DDM hid kits quality were going down since they moved to their new warehouse. Also, dont get HIDextra, their kits sucks. I got a least 4 replacements from them, not worth it over 2 months.

 

We got the HID kit installed with a little bit of adjusting but not too bad overall. The kit is straight forward but the limited space on the drivers side behind the headlight makes it a little challenging. The DDM kit I purchased was the 5000K and it looks great!! Absolutely no flickering or error codes what so ever, been driving on it a couple days now. DDM does NOT give you the proper connector to plug the HID harness into the factory headlight harness, so you have to plan for that before your install. Mounting the ballasts was interesting too due to the lack of places in the engine bay where the harness would get air flow to cool. Big thanks to CCDAN, thankfully he had experience so it made the process much easier.
