Default Are non-hid to hid kits worth it?

I'm currently contemplating a phillips kit onto my non-hid GS. I've read reviews and such but none really seem to address the actual output onto the street. I'm looking for visability and driveability.

Are they worth it? i'd rather get a 7oo dollar kit then a 1600 dollar OEM conversion but i know the OEM one will work, does the kit work just as good?

it wont work as good, but it does work. Unless however you are buying like a 10k HID kit. If you are buying a kit 6k or under the visibility WILL increase.

the visibility is good. i had it for quite a while and it has always been awesome.

just that it's not as good as oem hid headlights in terms of pattern and cutoff

if you dont' wnat to spend the kind of money for oem hid headlights, the hid kits are worth it

Best answer to your question....

If you do the hid retrofit properly, you can end up with lighting exactly like the Benz you see in the first pic. Most kits come out like the second pic. Some actually come out nice. It all depends on the car its being installed in. What year car do you have? 700 can get you a very nice hid retro. I did these ones here

ideally i'd love to do a projector retro but i have neither the time or skills to do something like that. my GS is a 99 and i'm really itching to do this mod but i'd rather it not turn out like that accord hehe.

I'm currently awaiting the arrival of my replacement headlights and maybe if i can find someone to do the retrofit mod i'll go that route, i can do engine/suspension mods but electrical and the whole sealing the light thing terrify me.

Anyone know anyone doing it?
