HID Install, immediate check engine light
What gives? I also have that warning light for what i think is the traction control? the orange light with an image of the car on swerving pavement. i toggled through the traction control settings, but it didnt change/fix anything.
DDM 35W 5000k for the stock halogens - i did not buy / install the relays, and i did not disconnect the battery during the install. the car was turned off during the install, obviously. one of the ballast buzzed the first time i turned it on, but that is no longer the case. no flickering either. i also checked the o2 sensor plug for the intake.

Ignore the "Check VSC" and traction control symbol for now -- for some reason, the ECU disables stability and traction control whenever the check engine light is on.
Did you turn on the ignition when some of the cables were still disconnected (to see whether the lights were working before buttoning everything back up?)
Buy or borrow an OBD II code reader, or go to Autozone to get the codes read for free. It's much easier to diagnose when you aren't guessing.

Yes and yes...i must have turned on the car when the o2 sensor was disconnected to check to see if the lights were working.
should i disconnect both positive and negative on the battery? and do i need to reset my windows or other parts?
thanks!

For future reference, it is best to always disconnect a terminal from off the battery when doing anything electrical to your car. GL on the fix...should be as simple as a battery reset.
