Default Expensive synthetic oil change at my Lexus dealership

I took my IS to Lexus of Westminster to do synthetic oil change and they charged $137 for it. Do you think it's too expensive ? They also asked me to change cabin filter for $75 more but I said no.

Dealers always charges an arm and a leg. Since your around Westminster I would recommend Dynamic Auto.
Two thumbs up for Sonny and his crew.

Dude - that sounds really high. I am thinking $70.00 bucks for an oil change at the dealership.

That's a typical dealership price for a synthetic oil change. If you want to do your services at the dealer, bring your own parts and have them do the labor only. You can get 7 quarts of Mobil 1 full synthetic for about $50. If you use your CL discount and buy in bulk, you can get the oil filters for about less than $5 each too with shipping. Then just pay ~$40 for oil change labor at the Lexus dealer (total cost ~$95) or take it to a Toyota dealership, where i've heard labor is as cheap as $14 for oil changes so the whole thing would cost you about $68.

Of course there are plenty of smaller shops that would do it for less than $70 too if you don't mind taking your car somewhere other than a dealer.

$75 to change the cabin filter is ridiculous. It's a 3 to 5 minute job, and filters cost about $20 or less if you dont want to get OEM. There are alot of posts about how to do it on this forum.

It can if you're not mechanically inclined~ best advise? goto a regional meet, meet members and make friends

New lambo, $1,500 first service. Porsh, $500 for the first service at the stealerships. Here in hawaii some brands require you ship the car to cali just for service due to no 'qualified techs' here...

i'd suggest that you do your own oil change.. but if you're rich and you can afford $137 for an oil change by all means just go to the dealership..

Stealership would always charge a lot to do oil changes, if you do it yourself it should run you no more than $50 bucks. I use mobil 1 synthetic oil, Oil + filter = $46 bucks

$70 will only get you Synthetic blend, oil at dealers usually cost 2X-3X more than wal-mart/auto parts stores.

What I have been doing is buy my own oil, and let Lexus dealer do the work. They only charge me $30 for the labor and oil filter is also included in the price.

yeah it's definitely my last time to have oil change at dealership. I didn't expect that much though.
