Not true. You dealer might have no problem with that but you cannot assume every dealer would do the same thing. I got quotes from two out of three Houston Lexus dealers, they do not accept parts not bought from them, even though they are OEMs. And I bought the plugs from Sewell.
So we're both guilty of overgeneralizing. Moral here is to call the dealer ahead of time - SOME dealers will accept outside parts, SOME dealers will not. However, I haven't heard of a dealer outright refusing to install outside or non-OEM parts, they might just not warranty it. I got this as a response from a dealer or two.
