Default High beam replacement from HIDextra

Hello everyone!

I bought 6000k fog light from HIDextra, and now would like to get a pair of 6000k 9005 bulbs from them again to replace my stock high beams and match with my fogs. Does anyone know which of these I should get from their website? I have a 2010 IS.

http://www.hidextra.com/9005

They also have a sale going on so wanted to get it before it ends

Thanks in advance!

There's no point. The high beams are used as a DRL + High beam function. Putting HID's in there is pointless. They aren't going to run properly at limited current (which is what the high beam bulb does to run as a DRL) and when you need your high beams, HID's take time to warm up also. Turning HID's on and off for short periods of time reduces the life of the bulb....so can't really use them as high beams.

Best bet is to get a 6000k LED DRL kit to match

V-Led's sells a good one too.

I see. What would putting HID in there be like? Would they be on all the time as DRL if I don't use the high beam function of it?

Yeah I was thinking about the 6000k LED DRL Kit from ijdmtoy, but was worried about color variance between the 2 vendors (HIDextra and ijdm) because right now I have 6000k fog from HIDextra, and 6000k low beam from xenondepot, and the two have differences in color even tho they are both 6000k ...

Can anyone confirm if iJDMtoy 6000k LED DRL matches pretty closely with HIDextra 6000k fog light?

Also, does anyone have any pic of XenonDepot 8000k D4S? Would they match HIDextra 6000k fog light pretty good?

Can these be used as high beams too or are they just for looks?

It's difficult to compare the temperature rating for LED vs. HID. In any case, the DRL don't come on with the fogs, so it shouldn't matter if they're close match or not.

Just for looks and DRL. The high beam functionality is gone for all intents and purposes , because these LEDs don't project much usable light forward.

I just ordered the "6000K" LED's from iJDMTOY along with 6k fogs from HIDextra and 6k garax D4S bulbs. I'll update you how it all matches when all the stuff gets here and i get it installed

8000k vs 6000k for sure won't match

Like raptor22 said, its pretty much voiding the high beam function. The only time it would really have a function besides being a DRL would be if your driving at night with your low beams on and need to "flash" another driver to signal your letting them pass or something. It's bright enough to see at night for that purpose. All other times, it's pretty much a DRL only.

Just wanted to make a note, if you have the stock HID low beams, they're bi-xenon, meaning they have a high beam functionality. It's not as good as actual high beam-dedicated bulbs, but you'd still at least have some form of high beams if you choose to get the LED DRLs.

Here's JVX's output pictures of the IS250 bi-xenon with an STI-R clear lens.

8000k vs 6000k for sure won't match

.
Yah, it sounds like it wouldn't match, but I have 6000K D4S from XenonDepot and it appears whiter than 6000K fog from HIDextra, so then I got 8000k D4S from Xenondepot later so hopefully that'll match it..

Please do keep us updated on the results and how they match

HIDextra 6k's don't match Garax 6k's. The HIDextra's are a little bit more blue. It know there's a difference between the projector headlight housing and the regular fog light housing, but its noticeably different. 6K V-LED's go good with the Garax 6k's tho. Also, one of the ballast's i got from HIDextra is dead already
