Default Might have found the one...different wheels though?

Ok, so rather than bumping my old thread I figured I'd ask this, but what are the different wheels between packages? Most of the cars I've seen have the same "split 5-spoke" design wheels, I know one special package has 5-spokes. I just found another car I'm interested in purchasing that has these wheels:

What wheels did those come on? Was it just an upgrade that a new buyer could choose? Here is a link to the vehicle. This actually looks to be a exactly what I'd like. From what I see and understand it has the Luxury package and ML/navi package, it's the right color combo and the mileage is actually lower than the other I was looking at for the same price. It seems like it could be the perfect one...opinions?

I've also attached the service history for the gurus that might be able to decipher some of it a little better than I could.

Thanks

Not an upgrade, just doesn't have the option of 18 inch wheels. Those are the standard 17s.

So the 18's I see everywhere were actually an upgrade and it just so happened most people decided to upgrade them? Or was it like when you bought the car new you could choose between the 17" or 18" option for the same price?

A lot of people get options/packages that include the upgrade to 18" wheels, they cost extra.

Which packages include the 18" wheels? If you wouldn't mind checking the link for the car it shows it has front memory seats and wood trim which according to the buyers guide on here would mean it is equipped with the luxury package. I had thought the luxury package was one of the most inclusive of the packages and would have thought it would have come with the 18" wheels. I mean it honestly isn't that big of a deal to me, I actually kind of like the way it looks with those wheel. I'm just trying to figure out if it doesn't have the options I'm assuming it does (AFS).

X-Package/F-Sport package would include 18" wheels.

X package, Sport package, and now F-sport package include 18s by default.

Luxury package comes with, or without, 18s...there's 2 versions (and that's the only difference).

Base model is 17" wheels.

In some markets, Lexus shipped all of the non AWD cars with 18's and buyers had no choice. This made life easier for the dealer and no one really cared. I only had one customer who wanted 17's.

Would I still be correct in assuming it has the Luxury package since it has woodgrain trim and front memory seats? Which would also mean it has HIDs and the AFS?

Wha? Of course buyers had a choice... get their dealer to swap with a dealer in another area... or simply buy from a dealer in another area... or special order what they actually want from any dealer who can competently special order.

Though I agree most buyers wouldn't bother just to get smaller wheels... (on the other hand, if I were buying, say, a Luxury package car, and planning to get aftermarket wheels, I'd sure as hell make sure I got the 17" Lux package to save myself the $800 or so by not getting the 18" upgrade that'd be worthless to me)

I should add the disclaimer all this info is only for US cars though... up in Canada for example you could get 16s on an IS250, a wheel which doesn't even "exist" as a US option.

Yeah, if it has memory seats and woodgrain it's the Luxury package, which means HIDs with AFS (for 06-10 models anyway... AFS vanished for 2011+)...in fact if you're just trying to determine HIDs, memory seats regardless of trim is enough, as the only other way to get memory is the sport package (NOT F-sport) which also included HIDs with AFS 06-10.

Gotcha...I just talked to the dealer a little ago and he mentioned a sunshade so I knew it had to be Luxury package at that point. Also, what is the factory warranty?

Well...here we go...fingers crossed. Got someone local going to look at it tomorrow, made on offer contingent on it approving his look over.
