Batteries can die very suddenly. If it has a bad cell, it can effectively "open" internally and you will not be able to jump the car or have any power until you change it. Most factory batteries are expected to have a 3-5 year life in a properly working charging system... some can go longer, some are just crap and die sooner. With the cooler weather we will see more batteries giving up.

While I've never heard of it happening on a 2IS, this happened to my LS400 when the alternator failed.

That happened to my Acura TL. It's for sure the alternator.

I was thinking it's your battery but since you changed it recently, so maybe it's your alternator.

When your car is not running you draw current for start and accessories from the battery, after it has started you draw current from your alternator. Your Alternator went bad... then drained your battery.... classic ... Hopefully you can recharge your battery... or thats another 100 bucks to fix the problem.

I heard the alternator is easy to access, but runs around 400 dollars...... post several days ago stated dealer wanted 1,000 bucks to change the alternator so try and do it yourself, take pictures and help the other CL members out!
Good Luck and keep us posted.
