Default Radio reception problem... help!

I had my dash pad replaced this week. An excellent job was fone by dealer not one scratch, however now the once very clear radio as i live in tampa, is clear but has patchy static sound every so often. I have no idea what it is, and am concerned as i dont want or have xm radio. any ideas? i am taking back to dealer in a week, but what could give? how can it go from being crystal clear to staticy every so often. in cd mode, it is perfect all the time, so it is reception related.

Make sure to check the antenna cable if it is plugged in tightly into the stereo. That's the only thing I can think of. If the antenna cable was not plugged into the stereo or loose, you still get reception, but it's going to suck since it's weak.

Remove your radio and check if the antenna is connected.
