Default Almost got hit...

Yesterday driving home from work, I was cruising down 35W from Denton back towards Ft Worth and was about to pass a yellow/gold PT cruiser. Stupid girl just starts merging into my lane (literally had less than .5 secs to respond) and would have taken out my front passenger's quarter panel (and probably would have thrown me off the highway since we were going about 70 mph) had I not slammed on my brakes. God forbid people check their blind spots before just suddenly merging.

Seriously, when are we going to start limiting who we give driver's licenses to?

Yea, this is especially dangerous when people don't check their blind spots before merging.. I had a couple ckose encounters when I used to daily drive or better terms, ride, a motorcyle. *****es would've taken me out..

we cannot prevent them from driving so that's why i would recommend to practice defensive driving and be alert at all times,it's better to be safe than sorry!as long as one person passed the written and actual driving exam, they will issue license and after that they are free to drive until they catch with law enforcement for their mistake...
having problem also with other drivers who doesn't know or too lazy how to use their turn signal that they think other drivers have psychic powers to know when they turn to...

^^^ I like my turn signals... even when passing at a higher speed... I put them on and leave them on until I'm all the way in the next lane...

Good job not gettin hit man. To answer your question.... Probably never. Even if we did they would probably still drive. May as well get some money from them

I steer clear of PT Loosers aka PT cruisers.... don't like em

Good job reacting to prevent an accident. I do my best to keep out people's blind spots. Prevents rock chips too.

I drive 70 miles a day 90% highway and I deal with situations like this once or twice a week. It's called defensive driving. Sounds like this is the first time this has happened to you?

It happened to me on E-22 freeway. Some stupid guy drove Accord cut me off (trying to get in 2 lanes on the right) on really heavy traffic on the right (currently had accident about 500' ahead)
I have to slammed on the break (he was just passed me on the left) to avoid accident. I was about 3-4" between my front bumper and his passenger door )lucky for him that i drove only about 35-40 mph. Otherwise, i don;t know what gonna happen to him.
Thanks to Lexus for great Breaking system

How about not driving in ppls blind spots so you don't have to worry about them checking it? I try to never drive in anyone's blind spots because I know how annoying and dangerous it is when someone is driving in mine.

I agree. Seriously. It's not the hard to use a turn signal. I see this everyday.

There used to be some guy on my commute everyday who would drive like double the speed limit, never used a turn signal, and cut people off and almost hit me twice. The police didn't care. I think the person is gone now... maybe learned there lesson from an accident or ticket or got a job somewhere else.

Well some cars have more blind spots than others, but its common sense that to the rear on both sides of most cars there is a blind spot. If you've ever seen a car pass you up on the left or right, you'll know theres a bit of time where the car isn't visible in your side mirror or rear view mirror. In some cars, you won't even see it if you turn your head and look out the side lol.

I had a hold guy adding sugar to his coffee run me right off the road, went into the ditch kept speed back onto the road and beat his door in at the next gas station. Think I might need anger management
