Defensive driving also makes a huge difference. Not that people are bad drivers, but some are inexperienced or distracted. When I'm in the right lane on the highway, I slow down purposely to expect cars to merge like maniacs at times. I also try to drive in between two merging cars so one can slip in through the front and the other from the behind. Also, people can use some sense to make the roads safer too. I've been driving only for a year and I feel I'm better and smarter than 99% of people on the roads I drive on everyday. I know how to make an actual stop (not rolling stops like everyone else), use my turn signals during turns and lane changes even with no cars around lol, using my signals before the block I turn on rather than some people I see who turn their signals on and decide to make a turn like 10 blocks later, and much more.

Some people are downright careless and ignorant. I was driving to school one day, this crazy lady, I was making a slow left turn lane change. No cars there and out of nowhere she floors her car into the lane I'm changing to and honks at me. I get scared and go back to my lane and she cuts me off. There's no cars behind me and she couldn't wait for me to pass and then go into my lane? I go into the lane I was suppose to be in and as I pass by, she sticks the middle finger at me and is screaming on her phone. I keep an eye on her and she cuts off another person two lanes down who honks at her. I look in my mirror and I see her sticking the finger at the other guy now. Like seriously, what's up with people like her?

God forbid people check their blind spots before just suddenly merging.

Seriously, when are we going to start limiting who we give driver's licenses to?

Good thing you weren't going past the speed limit, huh? LOL!!

Just glad you were paying attention and didn't get into an accident.

I'm not surprised. It seems like the vast majority of people do not know the proper way to adjust their sideview mirrors. Hint -- if you see the side of your own car, you have them adjusted wrong. http://www.linquist.net/motorsports/tech/mirrors/

Bichon, so I should have them facing more outward than inwards (towards me)? If that's the case, then everyone has them all jacked up LOL

Exactly, if I am passing someone, and I do not see their face in the side mirrors when the nose of my car is at their rear quarter panel, chances are they probably wont see me / wont check their blind spot when changing lanes.

If I am following someone from behind, and I can see their face from the side mirror, then their mirrors are done wrong and they definitely can not see their blind spot.
