Hey guys, I just bought my first Lexus. I went from a G37s, to a 2009 Lexus IS250. I bought it from CarMax for $28k. Its still being shipped and will hopefully be here in a week or so. Ill post pics as soon as I get it. Also I like these forums way better than the G37 forums, as they were quite boring.... anyway hope i enjoy the car.

Welcome to CL! I always liked how the G37 looked, what made you decide to get a IS250? Why not a 350 with similar power? Get some pics up, people will start demanding to see some lol..

I'm also curious why you went from a 3.7 producing 330 hp for 0-60 in 5.3 seconds to a 2.5 producing 204 hp for 7.5 seconds. I assume you drove both the 250 and 350 and made a conscious decision to go 250 over 350, even though the 350 is far more comparable to what you had. Was that because of price, gas mileage, etc?

Congrats on the car...

I'm also wondering why you are stepping down in HP.

If you don't need the speed anymore, I guess that's ok. For me, IS250 was still an improvement from me because I upgraded from a Civic

Glad to see another member checking in from Texas on the boards! Congrats on the new car. But I do have to ask, was there a particular reason as to why you went with the IS250?

Welcome to the boards... we're quite a wealth of information!

I live in the DFW area in Texas. I definitely downgraded on HP, but the gas milage on the 37 was ridiculous and this car is going to be a daily comute, plus the interior of the Lexus is just amazing. Thanks for the welcome guys.

like what you said, more appealing interior and exterior plus the fact that the fuel consumption is much better compare to your old G's.
