we will see when he post the after but from the times you can see it will be close
I am comparing equal drivers, equal mods, equal conditions.

Let's say I ran a 13.2 on my IS350 and my friend ran 13.5 in his G37s. That is about 2-3 car length. So that is not really that close.

1 second on a 95 MPH vehicle is about one car length.

In terms of weight? Certainly. That's one reason it's slower.

Even worse, it's a heavier car making a little less torque too.

The G37 exhaust note would be the worst part of being behind one in a race. It would make me cry because it is so euphonious and the is350 sounds like poop in comparison.

From a stop the IS will handily take the G37, mostly due to the differences in the transmission gearing...4.08 vs 3.35. Fully depending on the amount gained off the line, you should be close at the quarter mile.

Stock vs. stock, an IS350 should beat a G37 from a dig every single time. The G37 is even slower then it's predecesor G35. Just because something has a bigger engine does not necessarily mean it's faster.

Also, don't forget to disable your traction control(hold down vsc button for 5 sec.) Here's a tip I found from one of the members. "The best ET I managed using Dynolicious was a 13.3, and that was with TRAC off, going about 70% or so throttle off the line and smoothly applying full pedal at around 20 mph or so."

thanks for the info, I'll be sure to disable the vsc. we will most likely go head to head on Friday or Saturday. i will post the results after. it will be a couple of runs. from a stop, from a 20 roll, and a 40 roll. judging on the responses, im confident in the stop, but not at all in the 40 roll. :-\

And when racing from a dig be sure to leave your car in ETC normal (NOT power) too. That's interesting about the 70% throttle suggestion. The last time I was at the drag strip I found the best results from launching full throttle at about 1500 RPM. I'll try it next time.

Everythings pretty much been said. The G is heavier, slower than it's predecessor (not true of top end speed tho), IS has much more aggressive gearing and if done right with some weight reduction and traction settings, the dig win will be easy. Rolling should be close
