IS250 Lightweight Rim Owners Questions For You
for those of you is250 owners with lightweight rims (i.e. weds), do you notice a difference in acceleration and overall feel of the car from the stock 18s?
This is only pertaining to the is250 since it's slow as it is...

I have enkei PF01 wheels - 18X9 and 18X9.5 (clear IS-F brakes I have )
wheels are approx 4-5 LB lighter than stock depending fr or rr corner and the difference is noticeable when I track my IS and the change was a blessed one.
You can feel the difference just driving around town but you need to really concentrate to notice it.

For the 350 owners you guys are lucky. Since I've got the 250, IMO I think it's extremely slow on the acceleration side.
So cornering it helps, but what are your guys take on acceleration? Any noticeable difference on the butt dyno?

I have the Ultraleggeras on my 350 and at 17.5lbs each the feel is very noticeable. Acceleration is not the big gain here and doubt I can see any real diff in that area myself (as others have said, it may show in numbers under close scrutiny but it is not moving the needle on my butt dyno).
Handling and responsiveness to road undulations is however a big gain, and one that puts a smile on my face as I dash through twisty mountain roads. Ride comfort is up as well.
Keep in mind that your talking unsprung weight, which also includes the weight of the tire you choose to mount up on your rims... With my RE11s I come in at 40lbs per tire/rim combo.
